Comprehended Input — CI — is built on one principle: students acquire language when they understand messages. Not when they memorize charts. Not when they recite drills. When they understand.
A CI classroom slows down, reads the room, and makes sure every utterance lands. Stories, conversation, and shared experiences supply the meaning-rich input that the brain needs to build a real second language — the same way it built the first.
