Incorporating content or ideas from other school subjects into a subject that normally would not emphasize it. For example, doing fractions in Spanish class, teaching historical information in French class, explaining the rules of soccer in German class. Interestingly, there is very little flow in the other direction, i.e., one rarely hears of “core” subjects incorporating substantial foreign language material into their instruction.
