(Waltz) Differentiation by customizing questions or requests to students based on the teacher’s knowledge of where the student is currently at in terms of language acquisition. Unlike “gross differentiation” that involves groupings, microdifferentiation is completely personalized to each student. The downside is that it is often not immediately visible to administrators or observers.
